Last weekend, I attended the ITI Conference 2009 - Sustainability in Translation. In the spirit of the conference topic ‘moving with the times’, I chose to give mini summaries of the key things that I took away from the both days of the conference on Twitter. Having only 140 characters in which to summarise a whole day of presentations was a challenge but it really made me draw out the main things that I had learned. Here are my tweets:
Day 1
Day 2
There are already some great round-ups from the conference on the Web, which makes this an ideal opportunity to introduce you to some interesting people to follow on Twitter and to recommend some blogs for you to read. Firstly, those wanting short and snappy summaries of the event should check out Nick Rosenthal’s Twitter feed. Nick was tweeting live from the conference with short summaries of the various presentations. Secondly, those wanting to read some other interesting translation blogs and more detailed reviews of the event should visit Sarah Dillon’s There’s Something About Translation: she has posted a fantastic round-up of the conference from a social media perspective here. You should also check out Philippa Hammond’s Blogging Translator: she has written a great summary of her experiences of the conference here.
Happy reading!
