Following the success of its 21st Anniversary Conference in 2007, the ITI is holding another conference this year at the Institute of Mechanical Engineers at 1 Birdcage Walk, London, from 16 to 17 May 2009.
Sustainability has become something of a buzzword in recent times, particularly in the business world, and this is an opportunity to reflect on how sustainability relates to translation. The conference will be based on four different takes on sustainability: green issues, sustaining the professional, sustaining the translation profession and moving with the times. Topics will include translating environmental subjects, work-life balance, training the translators of the future and sustaining our own futures within the profession by keeping up-to-date with the latest technology and industry developments.
As at the previous conference, the event will also be a great opportunity for translators to meet other translators, for networking between clients and translators and for translation buyers to familiarise themselves with the latest goings-on in the translation industry.
